Port Mansfield, Texas
Once named Red Fish Landing; in 1950 the Corps of Engineers opened it as a harbor and named it after the U. S. Representative Joseph J. Mansfield (Introduced the bill that would extend the Intracoastal Waterway from Corpus to the Rio Grande) and later cutting a channel from it's harbor to the Gulf of Mexico.
A small fishing community with a population of about 300-400 residents year round. It was recognized as one of the top 10 best fishing spots in the U. S. It's location lies halfway between Corpus Christi and South Padre Island on the Lower Laguna Madre bay. Making this a great spot for fishing.
