The Spotted Seatrout or more often called Trout or Specs, prefer shallower bays and inlets with oyster beds and seagrass beds that attract prey species.  Anglers can blind cast across these areas while drifting or wading. Although they will readily take bait or lures fished in deeper water, this doesn’t compare to the excitement of watching them inhale a lure in shallow water.

Stalking the shallow grass flats for Red Drum (commonly known as Redfish or Reds) is the ultimate challenge for wade anglers. A phenomenon called "tailing" occurs when a red drum feeds in shallow water with their head down in the grass and the tail exposed to the air. The thrill of spotting a cruising redfish, casting directly to it, and then watching it strike has caused a sight-casting popularity of anglers looking to increase their knowledge of this specialized fishing technique. Experience sight-casting first hand by booking your trip with an experienced captain.
